Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated every year on the birth of the Hindu God Lord Krishna, which was the eighth avatar of Vishnu. Krishna janamashtami is celebrated on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of August-September. This year 2014 the Janamashtami will be celebrated on 17th of August. This Krishna Janamashtami will be the 5241th Birth Anniversery of Lord Krishna. But according to the timing of Krishna Janamshtami, the Janamshtami will be supposed to celebrate on 18th of August this year.
Some Fasting Rules for Krishna Janamashtami
No use of grains is there during fasting
Fast should be broken with the sunrise of next day.
All rules are followed during Ekadashi fasting should be followed during Janamashtami fasting also.
The fasting could be done for two days also. But the devotees who are not been able to fast for two days can break their fast with the sunrise of the next day.
All should follow Parana. Parana means breaking the fast in an appropriate time
Parana is done on next day when Ashtami Tithi and Rohini Nakshatra are over.
